Read Romans to prepare for our Bible Week

It’s August and our annual Bible Week begins on the 29th! It’s also the 500th anniversary year of the Reformation we’ll be exploring some of the passages which inspired this seismic movement.

Our speaker, Bishop Greg Venables, will teach on 4 chapters of Romans and this is his message to us ahead of our time together:

We live at a very difficult time in the history of the world and sadly, many Christians are facing uncertainty and insecurity.

Jesus said, ‘You’ll know the truth and the truth will make you free,’ and so we’re going to be taking time when we’re together, to look at the truth that God has revealed in his word, specifically the Book of Romans, chapters 5, 6, 7 and 8.

And we’re praying that knowing the truth, we’ll be set free – not just to live lives free from uncertainty and anxiety, but to live lives as his witnesses in this world which so needs to hear the gospel of salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ.

So please prepare. Take time to read the Book of Romans. Don’t just read it once, read it 2 or 3 times, so that when we’re together, we can really dig deep into God’s word and find the freedom that he wants us to have.
