Willowfield’s ‘Moving Forward’ project wins funding

The Moving Forward project at Willowfield Parish Community Association has succeeded  in winning 5000 Euro of funding from the Coca–Cola Thank You Fund. They were among the eight winners from Northern Ireland

Many young people aged 18–25 in the local community have left school with little or no qualifications and are struggling to find work opportunities, which leaves them feeling worthless and downbeat about their future. The Moving Forward project seeks to connect with those who find themselves in this situation and get them involved in activities which will help others in their local community.

The money will be used to run Volunteer afternoons for young men and Upcycling evenings for young women in the local community.

Awards

The successful non–profit organisations were presented with their certificates during a celebration at Zeminar, Ireland’s largest youth conference, on 12 October. A total of €100,000 has been awarded to 14 community groups in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland to support a number of innovative projects which will support and inspire young people.

The Coca–Cola Thank You Fund is delivered in partnership with YouthAction Northern Ireland and the Irish Youth Foundation. Find out more about the fund here.
