Autumn news from Jerome and Mary Munyangaju

Revd Jerome and Mary Munyangaju caught up with friends and supporters when they visited the UK 3 months ago for the Bird of Paradise Ministries Rwanda (BPMR) AGM and their daughter Jo’s graduation.

Here are some excerpts from their latest newsletter (download here):

Back home

Back to Kigali we found our BPMR family well and grateful that the Lord kept them safe. We have been joined by a new resident, an 80 yrs old man called Gaetan Rugoro. The ladies were so delighted to receive him for they thought Jerome needed a male companion in the house! We were also happy to see Miriam and Sally from Willowfield “come back home” to Rwanda with bags of colourful goodies, as you can see the ladies are holding their gifts and the gentleman got what he really likes; a posh hat and a walking stick.  We also thank Mrs Jacqueline Davie for making a beautiful patchwork of “Bird of Paradise” flower.

BPMR Charity Shop

We enjoyed good fellowship with all volunteers in Downpatrick charity shop. They are friendly, hardworking and dedicated to the work. Huge thank you to all for the precious time they give so freely to the Lord’s work through BPMR.

Please pray that the shop is sustainable as people from everywhere bring in donations of clothing, furniture and other items. We would appreciate any support you can give this shop also possibly raise its profile in your church bulletin or in prayer groups. More volunteers would be most welcome.

If you or anyone you know could spare an hour or two to help out in the shop please contact Mavis Spiers.

The Future

Our work is to share Jesus’ caring heart of compassion, providing the most basic needs of    elderly who have no family to call their own. One of the major challenges we face right now is how funds could be raised towards a build they might call their permanent home. The initial amount needed for it is in the region of £100,000 for both a plot and the home. We trust God and he is faithful, and will use his people to make this goal a reality. We are asking all our friends, churches, and individuals to support this initiative. Together, with your partnership, we can make a difference for the sake of Rwanda’s needy elderly in order that they also may simply live.
