Training opportunities for parishes

Congratulations to the 20 people from 6 parishes who recently completed an 8–week Pastoral Carers Course hosted by Knocknagoney Parish. This brings the total number of people trained by the diocese over the last 18 months to almost 50.

Our Diocesan Development Officer, Andrew Brannigan, is offering two further training options to parishes after Easter and there’s a great event for families on 21 April.

Family Training

Andrew is working in partnership with Care for the Family to deliver a suite of training packages for parents across a variety of family issues. As a taster he is offering churches a one–off ‘Inspire’ session. This 60–90 minute session will act as a good introduction to family faith and hopefully serve as a catalyst for more training and resourcing.

Welcome Training

These evening sessions have already been delivered to hundreds of people across our parishes and are easy to set up. Participants will learn how to help their church be a welcoming place and a welcoming people. Supported by an accompanying training guide, the evening involves a large degree of interactivity and conversation.

Email Andrew about either of these opportunities: andrew@downanddromore.org.

God Venture Family Activity Workshop

On 21 April in St Mark’s Newtownards, Victoria Beech will lead a seminar/practical workshop on family faith and what that looks like at home. Bring your own children with you as Victoria shows you how to bring faith easily into the family time at home.
