Saturday Night Live comes to Down Cathedral

Saturday Night Live arrived in Down Cathedral on Saturday 6 April. It was a different but very special experience with the Cathedral’s unique layout and wonderful acoustics.

Christians have worshipped on this site for 1600 years and our young people were an energetic addition to this amazing line of saints.

Rosie Woods (Moira) and Jack Wilson (Ballylesson) hosted the evening and Julie Currie and her helpers served hot dogs and fizzy drinks in the narthex. The games reflected the location – building a cathedral out of newspapers and getting the (jelly) snakes out of Ireland!

Sara Myles and the SNL Band, with some new members, led worship and Jasper Rutherford (right) spoke on ‘I am the true vine’.
