Diocesan Council congratulates Bishop–designate, Ven David McClay

A statement from the Down and Dromore Diocesan Council following the confirmation of Ven David McClay as Bishop–designate:

The Diocesan Council, meeting today for the first time following the election of Archdeacon David McClay as Bishop of Down and Dromore, warmly congratulates David on his appointment. David is well known and respected throughout the united dioceses as a leader of strong conviction and vision, and also of tremendous compassion and generosity. We look forward to serving under his leadership and commend the Bishop–designate, his wife Hilary and their family to your prayers in this time of change and challenge as he prepares for his consecration in late January 2020 in Saint Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
