Disappointment turns to opportunity for Alpha Online

A widespread broadband failure meant that the diocesan online Alpha Course couldn’t start on Monday 27 April. The good news, however, is that the number of participants has since climbed to 90 for the new start date of 4 May.

Jim Fleming and his team of 18 leaders were all set to go at 7.15 pm when Jim’s (and thousands of others’) broadband connection went down.  “I was stunned” says Jim, “but so thankful to have a wonderful group of leaders, some of whom were still online. They stepped up, quickly organised themselves and communicated to the guests who had joined the meeting, what was happening. They were brilliant as they apologised and encouraged the guests to come back next week. “So, next Monday evening, 4 May, we will regroup and try again. The Down and Dromore Online Alpha Course is still very much on. We are almost fully booked so if you know of anyone who could benefit from this excellent course, especially those who do not yet follow Jesus, please publicise it and point them towards the link below:  events.downanddromore.org/alpha
