Pray for our link diocese of Albany

Bishop Bill Love from our link diocese of Albany in New York State has written with his prayer requests for the diocese.

Dear Friends in Christ, Please pray for all the people and clergy of the Diocese of Albany and their families. Pray that God will watch over and protect them from the coronavirus and all other associated illnesses. Pray that the Lord will provide for their spiritual, physical, emotional, financial and material needs. Please pray for Bishop Bill Love, and his wife Karen, and all their family, as well as retired Bishop Dan Herzog and his wife Carol and their family. May the Lord be merciful to all of them, keeping them safe from all illness and providing for all their needs. May the Lord guide, equip and empower Bishop Bill as he leads the Diocese at this time. Please pray for all the diocesan staff (lay and ordained), remembering especially: Jerry and Fran, Bob+ and Margaret, Elizabeth+, Shawn, Meaghan, Sue, Lynn, George and all their families. May the Lord bless their efforts as they try to continue to carry out the business of the Diocese during these very difficult times, maintaining appropriate social distancing by working from home as well as alternating shifts at the office. Please pray for all the Diocesan Committees and leadership who are having to carry out their business via Zoom meetings and conference calls. We give thanks to God for modern technology which enables us to have such meetings, and pray that it will hold up under all the added usage on the internet. Please pray for all the parishes of the Diocese as they try to carry out the ministry of the Church entrusted to them, while temporarily unable to meet in their church building, or administer the sacraments. Please pray that all the clergy and lay leaders will come up with safe, creative ways to reach out to their parishioners and that all parishioners will remain engaged and not drift away. Please pray that everyone will continue to honor their tithe as best they can during these very difficult and uncertain times. Please pray for all the parishes that are currently in the search process for a new rector or clergy person to lead them: St. Eustace, Lake Placid; St. Luke’s, Saranac Lake; St. Andrew’s, Albany; St. John’s and St. Peter’s, Delhi and Hobart; St. Mark’s, Malone; St. Paul’s, Keeseville; Christ Church, Herkimer; Grace Church, Mohawk; St. John’s, Richfield Springs; St. Margaret’s, Margaretville; and St. Mary’s, Downsville. Please pray that a new date and place for the 2020 Diocesan Convention may be found, after having to be postponed to the fall due to the coronavirus. Pray that the 2021 Diocesan Convention may return to Camp of the Woods and that the regular format may be followed. Please pray for Bishop Bill and the Diocese of Albany as they face Bishop Bill’s upcoming Hearing Panel/Ecclesiastical Trial for his refusing to authorize same–sex marriages in the Diocese of Albany. (Due to the coronavirus, everything is up in the air at the moment as to when and what format the Hearing Panel will take place.) Please pray that whatever the outcome, God’s will be done. Please pray that the special diocesan relationship between the Dioceses of Albany, Down and Dromore, and Maridi, will grow ever stronger and that in all that we do, God will be honored and glorified and His Church and People be blessed. Thank you for your prayers!  May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless each of you and the Diocese of Down and Dromore this day and always.  Faithfully Yours in Christ, +William H.
