Holy Trinity Drumbo opens for private prayer

Holy Trinity Drumbo is one of the churches in our diocese that has opened its doors for private prayer.

The church has been open since lockdown restrictions in Northern Ireland were eased last week as part of the first step in the recovery plan. This meant some changes in how our churches are permitted to minister.

Rector, Revd Mervyn Jamison said: ”The first day we opened we had a steady trickle of folk. One lady was quite emotional as she was so overwhelmed at being able to sit in ‘God’s house’. She said, ‘I know we can pray anywhere, but this is just such a special thing to be able to do.’

“We have of course complied with all the guidelines, with areas roped off, a one–way system in place for able–bodied folk and hand sanitising points at both doors which are also kept open.”

Visit the parish website for details of opening times.
