Archdeacon and Canons Installed in Down Cathedral
Warmest congratulations to the new Archdeacon of Down and two new canons who were installed in Down Cathedral on 10 July.
Restrictions around COVID-19 had delayed the service by 101 days and also necessitated a much simpler service than usual. It was shared only by the Bishop and Chapter, the Registrar and close family members but was nevertheless, a happy occasion.
Dean Henry Hull installed Ven Ken Higgins as Archdeacon of Down, Canon Helene Steed as Prebendary of Dunsford and Canon Bill Press as Prebendary of Talpestone. Canon John Auchmuty was installed as the Chancellor of the Cathedral.
Bishop David gave the reading and a brief address before closing with the prayers.
Please note that Canon Bryan Follis was unable to be present.
