Black Santa is on the steps!

Belfast’s Black Santa, Dean Stephen Forde, is on the steps of Belfast Cathedral ready to receive in–person donations from the city’s generous public.

The Dean was joined for his first shift this morning by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Rt Revd David McClay, and the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Revd George Davison.

All three wore masks and observed social distancing so that the collection can be conducted safely during the pandemic.

Dean Stephen and his team will be outside the Cathedral every day until the afternoon of Christmas Eve, with the exception of Sunday December 20.

If you are in the city, please call by and support the annual appeal, or you can donate online at the Black Santa website. You can also support the appeal by purchasing limited edition Black Santa merchandise.
