Dromore Cathedral sit–out for Hospice Services

For the fourth year in a row, Dean Geoff and some of the parishioners from Dromore Cathedral are taking part in a charity sit–out in the town to collect for Southern Area Hospice Services.

Rather than sitting out at the Cathedral, which is quite removed from the main thoroughfare, you’ll find them collecting (COID–safely) in the heart of the community until 5.00 pm today.

This year’s locations are Taste Café in Market Square and Supervalu on the Banbridge Road. Eurospar on the Hillsborough Road have very kindly allowed collection buckets at their tills from Monday past up to 5.00 pm.

In 2019 the Cathedral sent £2950 from both the street collection and the Community Carol Service, which has had to be cancelled this year because of COVID restrictions. It will be replaced by a charity cycle tomorrow when Dean Geoff Wilson and Jonny Jackson will ride to Newry Hospice and back (a 45–mile round trip). We wish them well!

If you would like to get behind Dromore Cathedral’s support for Southern Area Hospice Services, please send cheques made payable to Dromore Cathedral to 30 Church Street, Dromore, BT25 1AA . Alternatively, email Dean Geoff at revgeoffwilson@gmail.com for more information regarding online transfers.
