Encouragement and resources from Julie

Throughout the pandemic our Children’s Development Officer, Julie Currie, has been offering lots of encouragement and resources to our Sunday School teachers and everyone involved with children’s ministry around the diocese.

“It’s so important to still be connecting and engaging with families at this time,” says Julie. “A wee phone call, a text (if permissions are granted), a card, a postcard are just some of the ways we can let them know we’re thinking and praying for them. I’m also encouraging our children’s workers to continue with online engagement through Zoom, YouTube etc, as another way of supporting and caring for our children and families.”

The JIGSAW Sunday School curriculum has been adapted for use at home and there are now 13 All–Age family talks on the downanddromore YouTube channel. Julie has also shared some great resources from ‘Together At Home’ which keeo in step with the Christian calendar.

Finally, with the approach of Spring, we’re keeping an eye out for Julie’s St Patrick’s Day Muddy Trail and a special trail for Easter, both of which will get our children away from their screens and into the garden.
