New member of the diocesan team

We’re very much looking forward to welcoming Keith Gardiner to the diocesan team as the Diocesan Fundraising Officer for Church Growth (part–time).

This is a brand new post and Keith will be taking up the role on 1 March. He will be facilitating the work of parishes as they seek funding to enable new initiatives that will reach out to connect with, witness to and support their local communities.

Keith trained as a surgeon in Northern Ireland, West of Scotland, Oxford and Baltimore (US). Since completing his training in 1995, he has worked in a variety of roles within academic and healthcare settings as surgeon, researcher, educator and leader. For the last 8 years, Keith has been the chief executive of a healthcare training organisation within NI.  He has a track record of success in attracting funding from research charities, health organisations and government departments.  Since retiring in September 2020, Keith has been studying theology part–time at Belfast Bible College.

He is married to Ruth and they have two adult children and an elderly spaniel. They have been members of Lisburn Cathedral for 30 years.

Keith says: “I am both humbled and privileged to have been given this opportunity to serve the Lord within the Diocese of Down and Dromore. I am very much looking forward to working in partnership with churches throughout the Diocese as they seek to continue to share the good news of the Kingdom within their communities through new initiatives.”
