Word and worship on Friday at Bible Week

On our final evening with Revd John Coles we’ll spend a longer than usual in congregational worship with choirs and worship teams from around the diocese.  John will speak on Joshua 6 – Praise Becomes Powerful – the last in his series looking at 4 ways the mission of God advances.

We begin at 7.45 pm in Willowfield Church and look forward to having you with us for an evening of worship, teaching and ministry.

‘Let’s Sing!’

The ‘Let’s Sing!’ part of our evening will include a blend of old hymns and new and will be led by Jude Frame (pictured above). Jude leads worship with keyboard and voice in a variety of settings, including in her home church of Knocknagoney. She is a primary school teacher and choir director, passionate about the benefits and joys of singing. Jude says: “It’s not often we get the chance to worship without interruption or agenda so please come along and enjoy singing the old favourites as well as some newer songs steeped in biblical truth.  We hope that you’ll be encouraged as a worshipper, whether you’re normally in the congregation, in a choir or in a band!”

Here are some of the songs we’ll be singing tonight that may be new to you. Click on the title to follow the links to YouTube.

Hymn Of Heaven – Phil Wickham

Brooke Ligertwood – A Thousand Hallelujahs

His Mercy Is More – Shane & Shane

Coming up…

Youth Night, Saturday 3 September

We are very excited at the prospect of joining together with young people from a variety of churches across our diocese for worship, teaching and fellowship.

The speaker will be Josh Thornbury, our own Youth Development Officer, who will explore the parable of the Prodigal Son.

While this is one of Jesus’ best–known parables, what we will discover is that this is also one of Jesus’ least understood parables. It’s also a parable that is relevant at all stages of our lives.

Join us on Saturday 3 September at 7.45pm in Willowfield Church.
