Register for Bible Course Module 3

Module 3 of our popular Diocesan Bible Course begins on Tuesday 24 January and is open to new registrations. You do not need to have attended Module 1 or 2 and will be warmly welcomed into this enthusiastic class!

The Course

This course is for Christians at any stage on their journey with God who want to know more about the Bible and how it relates to their lives. No prior theological knowledge or qualifications are needed!

It will be particularly useful if you have responsibility for teaching the Bible as Sunday School teachers, youth group leaders, small group leaders, evangelists, church planters or lay readers. This course will lay a foundation for further theological training.

Where and when

We meet on Tuesday evenings at St Donard’s Parish Centre, 2–10 Bloomfield Road, Belfast, BT5 5LT, from 7.30–9.30pm (including a coffee break). Parking is available.

MODULE THREE: 24 January – 28 March 2023

COST: Each module costs £30 (payable on arrival at the beginning of each module).

The course is taught by Josh Hooker. He is a Crosslinks Mission Partner, who has been teaching the Bible in southern Africa for the past 17 years. He is currently involved in teaching and training in the Diocese of Down and Dromore.

Module 3: Behind the Scenes

Have you ever wondered who the Pharisees were and what they believed? Or what a phylactery is (Matthew 23:5)? Or where Philippi was? And what happened in the 400 years between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament? Why was the first Century world ruled by the Romans? Where did children go to school at that time? What’s the difference between a synagogue and the temple? Apart from Judaism, what other religions were popular at that time?

In this 10–week module we go behind the scenes of the New Testament to find the answers to our who, what, where and when questions. This module will bring the world of the New Testament alive to you.

Registration for Module 3 will become available via Eventbrite.
