Coronation Events
A little taste of how our parishes plan to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
King Charles has asked that on the eve of his Coronation, the prayers of the peoples of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and beyond will be offered to God for the reign he has begun in our name. Belfast Cathedral will hold a special Service of Choral Evensong with Prayers for the King at 5.30pm on Friday 5 May.
St John’s Magherally are hosting a Coronation BBQ at the Rectory on Sunday 7 May at 1.00pm with food and fun for all ages.
Get along to Bryansford Parish Church on Sunday 7 May from 2–3.30pm when they will mark the King’s coronation with a free Royal BBQ. Tea, traybakes and burgers for all.
On Sunday 7 May in Donaghmore Church at 11.00am a special Joint Parish Service will mark the King’s Coronation followed by lunch in the grounds of the parish church.
The Parish of Magheralin invite you to Join them after the morning service on Sunday 7 May for a picnic to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. Bring along your picnic, and hot dogs, ice cream and cold drinks will be available.
The parishioners of Killaney & Carryduff will celebrate the King’s Coronation with a Royal Tea Party in Carryduff Parish Church Hall following Morning Worship at 10.00am on Sunday 7 May.
On Sunday 7 May Holywood Parish Church will celebrate the Coronation with an All–age Service at 11.00am followed by a Coronation Big Lunch with activities for all ages and music from Festival Brass Band.
A Big Lunch in the Rectory garden will follow worship in Dromore Cathedral at 10.45am on Sunday 7 May. Bring your own picnic with tea/coffee and juice being provided, along with an ice cream for everyone attending. Bouncy castles and games for the children.
St Dorothea’s Gilnahirk will be serving special Coronation Cake with tea after the 10.15am All–Age Service on Sunday 7 May while Holy Trinity Glencraig will also celebrate with coffee and cupcakes after their Coronation All–Age Service at 11.00am.
St John’s Moira will be serving Coronation cake and treats after all their services on Sunday 7 May and giving free books to the children.
