Death of Revd Niall Griffin
It is with sadness that we share the death of Revd Niall Griffin on Wednesday 12 July. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Gerry, sons Sean and Patrick, grandchildren Jessica, Senja and Jack and the wider family circle.
Niall was ordained deacon in 1961 and served a curacy in St Mark’s Newtownards, (1961–1963). In 1964, after a short second curacy in St Mark’s Armagh, Niall and Gerry left for Jamaica to serve with SPG in St Luke’s, Kingston. They returned to Shankill Parish Lurgan in 1967 and in 1969 Niall became an RAF Chaplain, serving until 1984. Niall was engaged in full–time Renewal Work with the Ministry of Divine Healing at the Christian Renewal Centre, Rostrevor, until his retirement in 2010.
A celebration of Niall’s life will take place on Sunday 16 July at 2.00pm in Kilbroney Church of Ireland Parish Church, Rostrevor. A private family committal will take place afterwards in Kilbroney Municipal Cemetery.
