Revd Cosmin Pascu is ordained presbyter
Congratulations to Revd Cosmin Pascu who has been ordained presbyter for the curacy of Holywood. Cosmin has just completed his deacon year in the Parish of Magheralin.
Bishop David ordained Cosmin along with Timothy Eldon, Stu Armstrong and Claire Pearson at a service in Down Cathedral on Sunday 27 August. The preacher was the Revd Greg Downes who is the director of Kingfisher Ministries and Theologian & Missioner of St Mary’s Cogges near Oxford. Greg is also the speaker at this year’s Bible Week.
Cosmin reflects on his deacon year
My time in Magheralin has been an incredible place of learning and of growing to love and serve Christ.
Most of my learning has been done by observing and serving alongside Revd Simon Genoe and Revd Emma Gibson, and the rest of the Magheralin team. From home visits, which took place during the week, to Bible study groups, to prayer meetings, to taking part in Sunday services, God has been tremendously good. He placed me to serve and learn among people who truly love Jesus and who are totally committed to see that every person coming to church may experience and know Christ deeper and live in step with the power, presence and the daily activity of God’s Spirit.
I am extremely thankful for Simon, Emma and the rest of the people of Magheralin Parish for from them I have learnt the importance of waiting for the Lord to speak through His Word and through prayer. Learning to simply be present in His presence, and to allow God to do His work in my life and that of others. The time spent here has been transformational and formative of character.
