Vacancy, Parish of Kilmore and Inch

The Bishop of Down and Dromore seeks to appoint a Priest–in–charge for the above parishes. The role will initially be for a 5 year period.

The Parish of Kilmore centres around the villages of Kilmore and Crossgar, approximately 20 miles from Belfast. The Parish of Inch is situated between Crossgar and the neighbouring county town of Downpatrick.

We wish to appoint a priest/presbyter who will:

  • Continue to rebuild our worshipping life and grow our churches following the pandemic.

  • Preach the Gospel of Christ faithfully and help people grow through the study of the Bible.

  • Be committed to pastoral care and to reaching people of all ages and backgrounds on the fringes of our parish.

  • Work with other churches and community organisations.

  • Reach the unchurched and de–churched living in both parishes.

  • Equip the church to engage and particularly work with families, children and young people.

  • Enable both congregations, particularly the congregation at Inch, to engage with the opportunities that arise from having the ancient ruins of Inch Abbey in their parish.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: Friday 12 January 2024 at 12 noon.
