Encounter speakers – meet Glynis
We’re delighted that Glynis Matchett will be joining us at our next Encounter morning for women in the diocese on Saturday 9 March in Holy Trinity Banbridge. (If you haven’t booked yet, please follow THIS LINK.)
Meet Glynis
I am married to Chris and mum to Jonny and Anna. I’m a Diocesan Evangelist, working at Willowfield Church, where we have worshipped as a family for many years and where I also lead prayer ministry.
On Sundays I am involved in leading services and preaching and overseeing the Prayer Ministry Team. The rest of my week is spent in evangelism (door to door, Healing on the Streets, give aways etc) as well as discipleship with new Christians and some pastoral visits. I am involved in training others in these areas too, so I often have the privilege of visiting other churches.
I grew up in a family that didn’t go to church, but I had three significant moments with God as a child and I became a Christian when I was 8 years old.
Before coming on Staff at Willowfield, I was a teacher and I also spent 6 years in missions working with YWAM in several different countries in Europe and South America.
My heart is for people to encounter the presence of God in a life–changing way and to see them equipped to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.
When I’m not working, I enjoy a good walk, a good book – or a cup of tea and a Curly Wurly or a Crunchie!
I was part of the first Encounter morning last September and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what God will do among us in March.
