Bicycles urgently needed for Maridi clergy
In an area with one tarmac road and parishes scattered widely in the bush, transport is the biggest challenge to ministry in Maridi Diocese. Could your church raise enough to buy one or more bikes and help clergy in South Sudan to do their important pastoral work?
Together as a diocese we’re aiming to raise enough money to buy 100 bicycles which can be purchased in the country for £200 each.
This is a sum of money well beyond the reach of the clergy in Maridi, most of whom do not receive a stipend and exist by growing their own crops and keeping a few small livestock.
Please, as a parish, or as an individual, give generously to this appeal. We would like to be able to celebrate this at our Diocesan Synod on Thursday 20 June.
Donations should therefore be received before Friday 7 June 2024.
