Please pray for General Synod
Bishop David writes: “The General Synod of the Church of Ireland will this year be held in the Armagh City Hotel on the two days following Ascension Thursday – Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May. Please join me in praying for this important gathering using the points below.”
That discussions and debates will release authority for mission and evangelism across the island of Ireland.
That we as a denomination will cherish the scriptures and choose to live out our calling as a church under the authority of God’s word.
That God in his mercy and grace would pour out his Holy Spirit on the church in every diocese.
For the Primate as he chairs General Synod, that God would bless him and enable him to discern in his chairing what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church.
For safety for all those travelling to General Synod.
For Down and Dromore representatives to make a Holy Spirit led contribution to the discussions and debates.
For kingdom conversation and connections to take place during informal opportunities that will lead to new initiatives in mission and ministry.
For unity in our church that’s biblically rooted, visionary, and where God’s presence is known and experienced.
For a heightened awareness of the presence of God in the synod hall through the Synod of 2024.
