Adult baptisms celebrated in Millisle
In our small parishes of Carrowdore and Millisle we have been blessed in the last couple of years by eight adults giving their lives to Christ and being baptised in the sea – a huge privilege for myself as the minister and a celebration for the whole church.
The latest four were last Sunday 16 June when we walked the short distance from St. Patrick’s following the service to the sea water lagoon in Millisle for the joyous baptisms. Even the small group of paddle boarders enjoying the water joined in with the applause!
Once dry and changed we enjoyed some fellowship and refreshments and it was great to see several non–Christian members of the baptism families chatting and sharing in what we pray was a wonderful witness to God’s transforming power.
I hope this moving of God’s Spirit is an encouragement to all to look for where He is working and make sure we are helping and joining in. Over my 25 years of ordained ministry I can testify that God is faithful and He teaches us perseverance, blesses us and allows us to join in with His awesome mission.
