Equipping young worship leaders
Excitement was in the air when twenty young worship leaders gathered at Knocknagoney Parish Church in early October for the Diocese’s first Worship Workshop for young people.
Led by Jude Frame (Knocknagoney Parish) and Simon Burrows (Holywood Parish), the workshop offered a comprehensive introduction to worship leading. Participants learned about the fundamental questions of who we worship, why we worship, and how to engage in worship through music.
The day kicked off at 10.00am and continued until 1.00pm, when parents and guardians were invited to join a special showcase at the end of the workshop along with a complimentary lunch.
The workshop featured a team of expert musicians who shared their talents and insights. Participants had the opportunity to learn from Daniel Wright on drums, Jude Frame on vocals, Simon Burrows on piano and violin, and several guitarists including Matthew Herron, Lauren Gorman, Trevor Brimage, and Clive Carson.
Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees forming the DDYC Youth and Young Adult Worship Band and delivering an impressive showcase. Jude Frame and Simon Burrows expressed gratitude to the expert musicians who led the seminars, the parents and guardians for their support, and, most importantly, the young participants for their eagerness to share their gifts with the Church.
Overall, the Worship Workshop was not just an educational experience but also a celebration of young passion for worship, leaving attendees excited for future opportunities to grow in their gifts and talents.
