Vacancy for a Rector, Stormont
St Molua’s, Parish of Stormont in the Church of Ireland Diocese of Down and Dromore seeks to appoint a Rector. Our mission statement is: Worshipping God – Building the Church – Reaching the People.
Based on this, our vision is to continue to live worship-filled lives and to encourage others to do likewise, to encourage participation in Bible-based teaching and prayer, and to spread the Gospel and love of God in our community.
We are looking for a Rector who:
has a sincere personal faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord;
has good presentation and communication skills including Bible-based preaching and teaching the faith in a relevant way;
is enthusiastic for outreach, evangelism, and the challenge of building up the church within the community, particularly through children’s and family ministry;
can build on our current missional initiatives and guide us in developing new ones;
possesses good administrative and organisational skills;
can meet the pastoral needs of a parish of mixed ages and social backgrounds;
has the ability to make worship and witness relevant to the modern world;
can nurture and encourage the skills and talents of our people;
can accommodate a range of worship and devotional styles;
demonstrates strong leadership skills, whilst employing sensitivity to the needs and preferences of others;
can encourage a sense of giving back to God what he has given to us to help put the parish on a stronger financial footing.
The following attributes would also be desirable:
an appreciation of music and singing and their contribution to worship;
competence in Information Technology and its use in communication, presentation and parish management.
