Seagoe Parish take Speak Jesus theme for Lent

In response to our diocesan initiative for 2025, Seagoe Parish have adopted a ‘Speak Jesus’ theme for their Wednesday evening services in Lent.

Most recently Revd Stuart Moles interviewed four parishioners (above) about how they had dealt with opposition when Speaking Jesus in their work and family situation. The openness and honest of the interviewees was moving, challenging and encouraging. They spoke in such real terms about how difficult it had been at times, but also how rewarding it had been when they persevered.

The Speak Jesus Lent Services so far have been examining biblical encounters where people have sought to Speak Jesus:

Week 1: Stuart spoke on Jesus and the women at the well, he entitled his talk Speak Jesus at the water cooler.

Week 2: Terence spoke on Philip and the Ethiopian Enrich and entitled his talk Where the Holy Spirit prompts us.

Week 3: Tim Burns of the Diocesan Suitcase Project spoke on Paul at the Areopagus and talked about Speaking Jesus to newcomers from other cultures.

Week 4: (as above) was based on Paul's many rejections.

This week Heather Boyd will speak on Jesus comforting Mary and Martha, and will talk about Speaking Jesus' comfort to those around us and in Week 6 Andy Williamson (outreach worker in Shankill Parish) will speak on Jesus' encounter with Zacchaeus and being intentional in Speaking Jesus. The services begin at 7.30pm and all are welcome.

With thanks to Canon Terence Cadden and Revd Stuart Moles
