Installation of the Very Revd Henry Blair as Dean of Down

Following his institution as rector of the Lecale Area Mission Partnership the Very Revd Henry Blair was installed as Dean of Down in Down Cathedral on Sunday afternoon 2 March. Dean Blair was installed by Canon Chancellor John Auchmuty which involved being vested with a scarf bearing the crest of Down Diocese and assigned a stall in the cathedral. Bishop David gave the address, saying that a cathedral church - every church - must engage fully with its true task which is to proclaim the good news of the Gospel of Jesus and become a place of mission, prayer, and mercy. The challenge - let’s go with the Gospel to the next generation, let’s grow in our depth of commitment to Jesus and let’s give God the glory, for he alone can transform the lives of those around us.
