BEMs presented at Hillsborough Castle
It’s been a very special day at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens for two families with links to Down and Dromore.
This morning Trevor Douglas was presented with his British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to peacebuilding and to the community in Northern Ireland. Trevor is a parishioner of St Saviour’s Dollingstown, and is the General Manager at Belfast Cathedral. He was the first manager of the groundbreaking The Jethro Centre which is an outreach of Shankill Parish Lurgan.
This afternoon Roderic and Joan West were presented with their BEMs for services to the community in County Down. Roderic is a former Archdeacon of Dromore and rector of Banbridge and Seapatrick. Joan is a retired community nurse who served by Roderic’s side throughout his 37 years of ministry in the diocese. Read more about their double honour HERE.
Congratulations once again to everyone!
